Description

  • Define and execute the technical vision and standards for the GCP data engineering practice, including data modeling, ingestion, lakehouse architecture, and FinOps.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of enterprise data platforms using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, and Cloud Storage.
  • Partner with data science and AI teams to build production pipelines, vector search infrastructure, and RAG frameworks using Vertex AI and BigQuery ML.
  • Implement GCP-native data governance, security, compliance, lineage, access controls, and metadata management.
  • Serve as the GCP data subject-matter expert in presales, client workshops, and enterprise delivery engagements.
  • Establish CI/CD, Terraform infrastructure as code, data testing, monitoring, and reliability practices.
  • Manage, mentor, and scale an agile team while driving hiring, development, certifications, and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering and enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading agile engineering teams.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing production data solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage.
  • Advanced SQL and Python proficiency, with experience supporting LLM pipelines, vector search, and GenAI workflows.
  • Experience with Apache Beam, PySpark, NoSQL databases, ETL/ELT, real-time streaming, and cloud Medallion/Lakehouse architectures.
  • Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD, IAM, KMS, and Knowledge Catalog governance.
  • Strong presentation, consulting, stakeholder-management, and business-translation skills.
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is strongly preferred.
