Description

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code to ensure consistent, repeatable, and version-controlled environments.
  • Build, optimise and own CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI to support deployments for Next.js (Web), Django (Backend), and React Native/Expo (Mobile) services.
  • Implement and operate monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions with Datadog and Sentry to provide visibility into application performance, system health, and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain internal tooling and automation (primarily using Python) to improve engineering efficiency and streamline operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to architect scalable, reliable services, troubleshoot production incidents, and ensure high availability across the platform.
  • Drive the migration of infrastructure to Infrastructure as Code and champion IaC, CI/CD, and observability best practices across engineering teams.
  • Embed security and compliance best practices into infrastructure and deployment processes to meet internal standards and industry requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of proven experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role.
  • Deep expertise with a broad range of AWS services, including experience with MySQL RDS.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Pulumi using Python.
  • Strong Python skills for tooling and automation.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI.
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and observability tools, particularly Datadog (and familiarity with Sentry).
  • Product-minded engineering approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive initiatives in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Nice to have: experience mentoring engineers, delivering infrastructure projects, and driving consensus across teams.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with operational concerns for Next.js/TypeScript, Django/Python, React Native/Expo; experience with OpenSearch, Redis/ElastiCache; and experience integrating AI/ML tools or working in fast-paced product-led growth environments.
