Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain Datadog observability across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Develop dashboards, SLOs, monitors, and intelligent alerting policies.
  • Monitor healthcare applications and infrastructure, including EHR/EMR, HL7/FHIR, and clinical systems.
  • Configure scalable log pipelines, custom metrics, and telemetry ingestion using Datadog Agent, OpenTelemetry, and APIs.
  • Partner with SRE and engineering teams on incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Integrate Datadog with ITSM, CI/CD, security, and endpoint platforms such as Tanium.
  • Manage Datadog configurations as code using Terraform, APIs, or CLI tools.
  • Optimize Datadog usage, tagging, retention, cost, and performance.
  • Ensure observability practices meet HIPAA, NIST SP 800-53, and Zero Trust requirements.
  • Produce system health and reliability reports, collaborate with clients, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in observability, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering, including Datadog administration and architecture.
  • U.S. citizenship and willingness to undergo a U.S. Government background investigation.
  • Hands-on expertise with Datadog APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Log Management, Synthetic Monitoring, RUM, and Cloud Security Management.
  • Experience with healthcare systems and HIPAA-regulated environments is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Tanium or similar endpoint visibility platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes, Docker, and hybrid/on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Python or Bash automation.
  • Knowledge of SRE practices, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA safeguards, NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust, ITSM, CI/CD, and SIEM integrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted, plus at least three listed professional certifications.
