Description

  • Provide hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering support for environmental baseline, water management, water treatment, permitting, remediation, and reclamation projects.
  • Support risk analysis related to water resources.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Develop hydrological conceptual site models using software such as HEC-HMS and SWMM.
  • Develop hydraulic modelling and assessment for water bodies and hydraulic infrastructure using tools such as HEC-RAS and FLO2D.
  • Support development of baseline hydrology programs.
  • Develop site-specific water balance models for integration into GoldSim water and load balance models.
  • Develop climate records using climate change projections.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex technical scopes of work.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through ongoing communication and understanding of client goals.
  • Develop scopes of work and cost estimates for hydrology and water resource engineering tasks.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior staff in hydrotechnical and water resource engineering.
  • Travel to work sites to interface with staff, vendors, customers, regulators, and project partners.
  • Participate in community engagement and consultation events.
  • Monitor and promote environmental health and worker safety compliance.
  • Manage special projects and support other engineering projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering.
  • Professional Engineering designation required.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in Water Resources Engineering or Hydrotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience working in an environmental consulting or project consulting setting.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, water resources engineering software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and GoldSim, and coding languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Post-graduate education such as graduate-level coursework, a short course, or a Master’s degree (preferred).
