Description

  • Lead archaeological and historic resources projects, including field studies, surveys, monitoring, testing, data recovery, and historical research.
  • Develop project proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets, and support business development.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and mentor cultural resources field staff, junior personnel, and project managers.
  • Manage project mobilization, demobilization, staffing, invoicing, and budget tracking.
  • Conduct and oversee Section 106 and Section 110 NHPA compliance activities and environmental planning projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, federal, state, and local agencies, Tribal representatives, and internal teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, site forms, monitoring and data recovery plans, permit documentation, and NEPA cultural resources sections.
  • Interpret historic preservation and cultural resources regulations and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements through independent review protocols.
  • Develop regional staff resources and expand archaeology services in the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience; approximately 10 years of progressively responsible cultural resources experience preferred.
  • Experience managing cultural resources projects, including work with architectural historians and regional archaeological research or analysis.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local historic preservation and cultural resources regulations, including NHPA Section 106 and 110; NEPA experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern GPS technology and ability to use it in remote locations.
  • Demonstrated project planning, development, management, communication, writing, problem-solving, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass pre- and post-employment drug and alcohol tests.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; permitting eligibility in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, or Nevada and Registered Professional Archaeologist status preferred.
