Description

  • Provide high-quality data sets through data curation, consolidation, and manipulation from large-scale sources.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using platforms such as Snowflake and BigQuery.
  • Develop and improve enterprise data marts by creating efficient, scalable data models.
  • Partner with analytics, data science, CRM, machine learning, product, and engineering teams on data solutions and tracking.
  • Own enterprise data mart integrity, validation, documentation, SLA management, and dependency management.
  • Write technical documentation and present solutions at design reviews.
  • Investigate and resolve data pipeline failures and implement anomaly detection.
  • Lead medium to large projects, including technical specifications and project planning.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of data engineering or general software development experience.
  • Experience working with large datasets at terabyte scale and growing.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Comprehensive data design and data modeling experience.
  • Strong experience developing complex ETL processes, including SLA definition, performance measurement, and monitoring.
  • Advanced SQL and data exploration skills, including writing complex queries across large datasets.
  • Experience with Python functional programming or an equivalent language.
  • Systems performance and optimization experience with scalability-focused architecture and design.
  • Strong software engineering principles and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle challenging deadlines.
  • Proven technical leadership on medium to large projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously, mentor junior team members, and support end users.
  • Nice to have: exposure to machine learning and data science.
  • Nice to have: experience with Airflow or similar task orchestration tools.
  • Nice to have: comfort working in a Linux CLI environment.
  • Nice to have: experience designing high-scale, fault-tolerant distributed applications.
  • Nice to have: experience developing and managing real-time data pipelines.
  • Nice to have: experience with Java or equivalent languages.
  • Nice to have: experience with data governance.
