Description

  • Prepare routine monthly journal entries such as accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, corrections, and reclassifications.
  • Ensure journal entries are coded correctly to the proper entity, account, and cost center.
  • Maintain clean supporting documentation and workpapers for all journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Identify, flag, and escalate discrepancies or unusual items to the Controller promptly.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts across all three entities within the close calendar.
  • Reconcile billing and vendor platform activity to the general ledger and investigate variances.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements for key AP vendors and escalate discrepancies.
  • Monitor automated AP and AR workflows, review exception queues, and process manual payments or adjustments as needed.
  • Review AP and AR aging reports, identify overdue items, and coordinate follow-up with operations as directed.
  • Maintain accurate multi-entity records, apply intercompany coding, and flag items requiring intercompany elimination entries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accrual-basis accounting.
  • Experience performing bank reconciliations independently.
  • Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred and Sage Intacct experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a low tolerance for unresolved items.
  • Ability to follow written policies and procedures precisely and ask questions when needed.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with claims disbursement reconciliation or insurance/TPA accounting is a plus.
