Description

  • Design and build automated systems to detect data quality issues, product bugs, and regressions across the web application and data pipelines.
  • Write scripts and tooling to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and failures in large datasets.
  • Prioritize quality issues with product based on business impact and drive fixes directly in code.
  • Develop and maintain automated test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.
  • Collaborate with engineering to review data models, API contracts, and backend logic for correctness and edge cases.
  • Instrument quality metrics and build internal tooling or dashboards to monitor data health and product reliability.
  • Run automated release checks and surface risk areas before deployment.
  • Debug complex pipelines, production logs, and data issues across the stack.
  • Work independently to manage a backlog of quality issues from detection through resolution.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering experience focused on quality, data integrity, or test automation.
  • Strong Python skills with the ability to write production-quality scripts, automation, and data analysis code.
  • Experience working with large datasets, including querying, profiling, validating, and debugging data.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, with Postgres and Elasticsearch preferred.
  • Proven track record of building automated systems that discover bugs or data issues, not just validate known behavior.
  • Ability to read, understand, and contribute fixes to a production codebase.
  • Comfort working independently and prioritizing quality issues by impact.
  • Experience with Django, Elasticsearch, or Vue is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS-based environments and cloud data pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with tools such as Pytest, Great Expectations, dbt tests, Playwright, Postman, or similar is a plus.
