Description

  • Lead and grow multiple cross-functional Product Engineering teams within the Marketplace area.
  • Co-own Marketplace outcomes with the Head of Product and set clear, outcome-focused goals.
  • Set technical direction with architects and engineers and scale engineering practices through guilds and shared principles.
  • Drive consistency across Marketplace teams while keeping decisions close to the work.
  • Coach engineering managers and senior individual contributors and develop future leaders.
  • Own hiring, succession planning, and talent development for the Marketplace area.
  • Remove organisational and technical barriers that slow teams down and improve developer experience.
  • Partner with Platform to evolve CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence foundations.
  • Drive responsible use of AI tooling to improve productivity, feedback loops, quality, and security.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Customer Support, and Group Functions to align priorities and solve shared problems.

Requirements

  • Experience as a leader of leaders, guiding multiple teams and coaching engineering managers or team leads.
  • Confidence in aligning priorities, communicating trade-offs, and navigating complex cross-company contexts.
  • Ability to balance execution, strategy, and people leadership while building sustainable processes and healthy team dynamics.
  • Comfort shaping technical direction at a high level to improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical partners and build trust-based relationships across the organisation.
  • Strategic thinking with a pragmatic approach and the ability to help teams scale beyond direct involvement.
  • Fluent English speaker.
  • Any other European language is welcome.
  • Based in any city in the UK or Spain and legally eligible to work there.
  • Experience in a product-led organisation or marketplace environment is implied by the role context.
