Description

  • Personally design and build the initial AI capabilities for the CaseWorks platform, including RAG systems, code generation, LLM orchestration, and multi-agent workflows.
  • Use AI to analyze legacy code and generate production-ready services.
  • Refactor legacy components into scalable, cloud-native services and replace manual workflows with AI-driven automation.
  • Deploy features safely using feature flags, shadow mode, and monitoring within HIPAA and CJIS compliance constraints.
  • Act as the core technical partner to the CEO and collaborate with Banyan’s centralized AI initiatives.
  • Once the initial AI foundation is proven, manage engineering execution and delivery outcomes.
  • Mentor and upskill engineers to adopt AI-native workflows and modern development practices.
  • Set engineering rhythms and improve team talent density and delivery cadence.
  • Establish and operationalize an AI-assisted development model for the team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Proven experience modernizing complex architectures and establishing cloud-native and DevSecOps practices.
  • Documented end-to-end experience shipping AI/ML systems to real users, including data pipelines, modeling, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience as a founding or first AI engineer who can build baseline architecture independently.
  • Strong judgment on build-vs-buy decisions and modernization strategy for a 15-year-old Microsoft-stack platform.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams and developing technical talent.
  • Must be US-based and fully eligible for government-adjacent/public-sector compliance work.
  • Direct GovTech, public sector, or federal case management software experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft AI stack, including Azure ML and Azure OpenAI integrations, is preferred.
  • Experience managing, coordinating, or collaborating with distributed/offshore engineering teams is preferred.
