Founded 2012

Description

  • Run day-to-day marketing for the AppSec, AI/ML Security, and Research & Engineering practices, coordinating closely with a peer TMM to operate as a cohesive team.
  • Track engineering output (tool releases, research papers, conference talks, milestones) and ensure each item gets appropriate coverage through blog posts, newsletters, social threads, and other assets.
  • Create and edit technical content (blog posts, case studies, briefs, marketing assets) and partner with Technical Editing while providing hands-on writing capacity when needed.
  • Own the content calendar across practices and coordinate publishing schedules to maintain steady coverage and prevent items from falling through the cracks.
  • Own social media (X, LinkedIn, Bluesky): maintain publishing cadence, engage the community, grow audience, and treat social as a primary channel.
  • Manage Trail of Bits’ presence at industry events and conferences, including pre-event promotion, on-site coordination, speaker briefings, and post-event follow-up and lead capture.
  • Plan and run multi-channel demand generation campaigns (social, email, webinars, conference activations) that drive pipeline and surface customer proof points (testimonials, logos, case studies).
  • Provide sales enablement support by producing collateral, competitive intelligence, and prospect research to support the sales team.
  • Build and maintain analytics, dashboards, and a reporting cadence that connect marketing activity and spend to sourced and influenced pipeline and revenue; own marketing attribution.
  • Gather market intelligence via customer conversations, competitor monitoring, and community engagement and flag opportunities to the broader team.

Requirements

  • Proven demand generation experience running campaigns that moved pipeline, ideally at a security, blockchain, or developer tools company.
  • Ability to write for deeply technical audiences (blogs, case studies, technical docs) without oversimplifying content.
  • AppSec and/or AI/ML security awareness and active engagement in those communities on X, LinkedIn, or Bluesky.
  • Proven experience running social as a primary channel with ownership of cadence, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Experience setting up reporting and dashboards and using data to make decisions and optimize marketing investments.
  • Hands-on experience with a marketing automation platform (ideally HubSpot) including workflows, list segmentation, and campaign performance reporting.
  • Technical proficiency with developer-adjacent toolchains (GitHub, markdown) and familiarity using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate content and campaign execution.
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, Technical Editing, GTM, and sales; ability to brief and prep technical speakers.
  • Nice to have: experience with analyst relations (Gartner, Forrester), PR/crisis communications, professional services or consultancy background, customer journey mapping/client segmentation, structuring web content for AI discoverability, and exposure to NPS or customer feedback programs.

Benefits

  • Base salary range $130,000–$160,000 (U.S.-based starting compensation; final is informed by location, experience, and internal equity) plus performance-based bonuses.
  • Fully company-paid insurance packages including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with a 5% match of base salary.
  • 20 days of paid vacation (with flexibility for more per local regulations) and 4 months of parental leave.
  • Remote-first culture with a $1,000 working-from-home stipend and $10,000 relocation assistance to NYC if desired.
  • Annual $750 Learning & Development stipend and company-sponsored all-team celebrations (travel and accommodation covered).
  • Philanthropic contribution matching up to $2,000 annually.
