Description

  • Build the foundation of Torc's AI development tooling.
  • Independently develop data science models and algorithms using disciplined software development practices.
  • Make recommendations on whether to create new code or reuse existing code.
  • Enforce version control and maintain documentation for created applications.
  • Work with Data Ops to define and implement data ingestion, preparation, curation, and governance for large datasets.
  • Organize and lead projects, including guiding less experienced team members.
  • Support visualization and data accessibility to deliver key insights in a customer-centric manner.
  • Develop guidelines and standards for analytics and machine learning models, deployment, and related processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members and cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated technical proficiency.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated technical proficiency.
  • Experience translating ambiguous and complex business problems into machine learning workflows.
  • Comfort working on frontier or exploratory topics and driving innovation.
  • Ability to make practical judgments about what Torc can implement at scale.
  • Ability to communicate outcomes and progress clearly to other teams.
  • Resilience to work on projects that may not reach production.
  • Willingness to work across multiple topics and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
