Description

  • Define the AI/ML practice strategy by identifying high-value client problems and developing a roadmap for offerings.
  • Create and productize services such as LLM integration, custom model training, AI strategy consulting, and AI-powered analytics.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts: validate new offerings through initial engagements and scale adoption with Sales and Practice Operations.
  • Engage directly with clients and lead key client discussions to capture needs, secure wins, and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Own the AI practice P&L and be accountable for financial performance and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a talent network of AI engineers, data scientists, and ML researchers and recruit for practice needs.
  • Enable and educate Sales and other cross-functional teams on AI/ML concepts, trends, and value propositions.
  • Represent Toptal externally through thought leadership, publications, speaking engagements, and community involvement.
  • Lead, organize, coach, and evaluate team members: set objectives, recommend team structure, assign work, provide feedback, and manage performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in Technology Services and/or Product, with 10+ years focused on AI/ML and enterprise AI initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, large language models (LLMs), and AI governance.
  • Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MLOps tools.
  • Proven track record of leading AI commercialization and productization efforts and delivering high-profile AI deployments.
  • P&L ownership experience in a technology services context.
  • Industry experience in one or more of marketing, finance, healthcare, or e-commerce is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations for executives and engineers.
  • Highly collaborative, able to work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Talent Operations, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be US-based (remote role); resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
