Description

  • Own the full P&L for the new business unit and ensure success through revenue growth, pipeline health, and gross margin.
  • Develop the business strategy by analyzing market and industry opportunities and prioritizing the highest-potential segments.
  • Build and test new offerings with clients, using feedback to achieve product-market fit.
  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution in partnership with Marketing, Talent Operations, Sales, Legal, and Finance.
  • Optimize supply and demand to balance top-line growth with operational efficiency.
  • Work directly with clients as a trusted business partner and represent Toptal externally.
  • Establish execution plans to ensure the right talent and solutions are available to meet client demand.
  • Create analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine strategy and improve business performance.
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leadership to align the business with broader company growth goals.
  • Scale the infrastructure, processes, and systems needed to support ongoing growth and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with strong business operations and management knowledge.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a business with P&L ownership.
  • Experience working in a professional services organization and driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated success building and launching a new business or product offering from scratch, or equivalent entrepreneurial experience.
  • Experience at a technology company or hyper-growth company is strongly preferred.
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or investment banking experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with marketing technology and automation, including marketing platforms, CRMs, and related tools.
  • Experience establishing high-impact, revenue-generating commercial relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen and confidence working with financial metrics and P&L analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work across senior executives and individual contributors.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and fast-paced, ambiguous work.
  • Ability to build credibility, develop relationships across the business, and gain consensus among stakeholders.
  • Remote work role requiring resumes and communication to be submitted in English.
  • Must be a world-class individual contributor and comfortable taking direct ownership rather than primarily managing others.
