Description

  • Act as an IC leader and take ownership of the team’s technical domain, health, and ongoing efforts while promoting a positive engineering culture.
  • Systematically identify highest-ROI problems, build alignment with stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives rather than hopping between projects.
  • Design and deliver improvements to CI/CD, build systems, and release engineering for the POS app to boost build speeds and developer productivity.
  • Optimize POS developers’ build/test cycles and reduce lead time to value by improving tooling, workflows, and automation.
  • Define and track high signal-to-noise metrics and observability to measure system health and guide improvements.
  • Partner closely with the developer community, release managers, and QA to develop developer experience (DevEx), feature-flag management, and release strategies.
  • Mentor and grow engineers, actively participate in team building, and raise technical and professional skills across the team.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate development, improve code quality, and reduce ad-hoc toil.
  • Contribute across a broad technical stack including Android app development, Java/Kotlin cloud services, and React UIs as needed for release platform work.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with Android development and a strong interest in full-stack work (Java/Kotlin cloud services and React UIs).
  • Proven experience in mobile CI/CD and release engineering, particularly with Jenkins and Gradle.
  • Experience optimizing build systems, speeding build/test cycles, and improving lead time to value for mobile teams.
  • Track record of taking initiative, working independently, and thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to explain complex technical tradeoffs to diverse audiences and build consensus among technical leads and stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth and culture.
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and a drive to automate appropriate workflows by default.
  • Familiarity with release strategies and feature-flag management to support concurrent releases across projects.

  • Competitive base salary with geographic pay zones (Zone A: $193,000–$309,000; Zone B: $168,000–$269,000; Zone C: $151,000–$242,000 USD).
