Description

  • Own the long-term vision and multi-quarter roadmap for in-store voice AI and the platform supporting multiple use cases.
  • Lead technical evaluation of voice and AI vendors, including benchmarking accuracy, latency, privacy, and cost.
  • Drive vendor commercial discussions around pricing, licensing, and SLAs in partnership with Procurement and Legal.
  • Plan and execute zero-to-one discovery, rapid prototyping, and in-restaurant pilots, then scale successful experiments.
  • Define APIs, integration patterns, data flows, and tooling for a reusable voice platform across POS, kitchen systems, and telemetry services.
  • Shape pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy with Product Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
  • Align Engineering, Hardware Ops, Reliability, Security, Data, Research, Design, Care/Onboarding, and GTM partners to de-risk delivery and adoption.
  • Define operational playbooks, observability, failover modes, and post-launch monitoring to ensure reliable in-store behavior.
  • Spend time in restaurants to validate workflows, test prototypes, and iterate with staff and guests.
  • Coach senior PMs and engineers on voice/AI product development, vendor evaluation, and responsible AI practices.

Requirements

  • Approximately 8+ years shipping complex software products with ownership of multi-team programs or a major product portfolio.
  • Experience delivering AI-enabled features or products.
  • Hands-on experience defining and owning AI model evaluation, including WER/CER, intent accuracy, wake-word false accept/reject, latency, and task success.
  • Experience building continuous evaluation and model ops processes such as drift detection, automated regression tests, A/B testing, and rollback/mitigation playbooks.
  • Proven track record taking a product from discovery through prototype and pilot to scale.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating AI/voice vendors and participating in vendor commercial conversations.
  • Ability to design reusable APIs and platform capabilities that support multiple downstream use cases and teams.
  • Experience conducting on-site discovery and validating prototypes in operational environments such as restaurants or other physical venues.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership across hardware, engineering, operations, and GTM teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to synthesize technical tradeoffs and business value for executives.
  • Prior experience building voice AI products with ASR, NLU, or TTS is helpful but not required.
  • Experience designing conversational flows, state management, turn-taking, error recovery, and graceful degradation is preferred.
  • Exposure to hardware considerations for voice such as far-field audio, beamforming, noise cancellation, or embedded audio processing is preferred.
  • Experience with on-device or edge inference and hybrid cloud/edge voice architectures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with privacy, compliance, and PII handling for voice data is preferred.
  • Background in restaurant, retail, or other physical-world operations is preferred.
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tooling, continuous model evaluation, and production A/B testing strategies is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $190,000–$304,000 USD for Zone A, $165,000–$264,000 USD for Zone B, and $149,000–$238,000 USD for Zone C.
  • Additional total rewards may include cash compensation such as overtime and eligible bonus/commissions.
