Description

  • Build and ship authentication, authorization, and integration credential features for customers.
  • Work closely with colleagues to design the right solutions to customer problems.
  • Write and review high-quality, well-tested code to maintain product stability and a manageable codebase.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in the codebase and team workflows and help implement them.
  • Own features and fixes through production and beyond, including responding to customer feedback.
  • Mentor and support other engineers to help them grow their abilities.
  • Help prioritize the roadmap and focus team time on the most impactful work.
  • Lead new login, authentication, and session feature work from early ideas and technical planning through UI fixes.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer Success to ship access control enhancements and iterate based on feedback.
  • Improve observability, audit logging, and customer environment monitoring, including support for incident debugging and exports to external tools.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a senior software engineer with substantial experience to draw from.
  • Proven experience building and delivering software in a high-level programming language.
  • Comfort working at a senior technical level; the interview process includes a Byteboard assessment.
  • Strong IAM domain knowledge and experience building secure, scalable identity and access control systems for cloud-based applications.
  • Comfort working across the full stack, including backend and frontend, with support from teammates.
  • Experience with common tools and technologies such as Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, and Docker is helpful.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies; prior experience with Ruby and TypeScript is not required.
  • Ability to work pragmatically on the most important problems rather than the most interesting ones.
  • Commitment to working healthily and sustainably, with reasonable hours and realistic workload planning.
  • A collaborative, inclusive approach and respect for teammates.
  • Education is not a requirement; candidates are evaluated on abilities and accumulated skills rather than formal schooling or exact previous employers.
