Description

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for foundation and government partnership strategy and revenue growth.
  • Develop and steward relationships with major foundations, city, state, and federal government partners, including 988-related partners.
  • Create and execute strategies to secure 6- and 7-figure awards and renewals from institutional funders.
  • Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including prospecting, pitching, contracting, proposal submission, reporting, reconciliation, and fulfillment.
  • Partner with program, finance, advocacy, and marketing teams to shape proposals, budgets, compliance materials, and impact reporting.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for Trevor’s largest grant partners, including two 7-figure multi-year grants.
  • Build and improve internal processes and systems for foundation and government partnerships and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Represent Trevor’s mission in presentations and communications with external partners and audiences.
  • Coach, develop, and hold direct reports accountable for goals, priorities, and results.
  • Maintain inclusive, mission-aligned work practices and continuously strengthen LGBTQ+ competency and awareness.

Requirements

  • Track record of success in foundations and government fundraising, including multi-year grant writing and at least one six-figure ask.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic fundraising plans based on the funding landscape and key decision-makers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven success managing and developing direct reports, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Experience setting, tracking, and meeting clear goals in a results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to distill complex information into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives.
  • Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills, especially under tight timelines.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of how individual deliverables affect broader team outcomes.
  • Commitment to The Trevor Project’s mission to end suicide and address mental health crises among LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; no visa sponsorship is available.
  • Preferred: Experience working with state governments, earned revenue strategy, or related public-sector partnerships.
