Description

  • Provide strategic leadership for daily production operations to achieve schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Own end-to-end execution of production systems, including build plans, travelers, routers, and integrated master schedules.
  • Lead high production rate readiness and large-scale production ramp initiatives.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks affecting delivery, quality, or safety.
  • Oversee workforce strategy, including labor planning, staffing, training, and multi-shift operations.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, DoD, and customer-specific requirements across operations.
  • Direct system-level assembly, integration, functional test, and final acceptance activities.
  • Establish root cause, corrective action, and problem-solving processes for production and test anomalies.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to improve design for manufacturability and producibility.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in yield, cost efficiency, rework reduction, and cycle time.
  • Own and monitor operational KPIs to support data-driven decision-making and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Test Engineering leaders.
  • Lead customer audits, program reviews, regulatory inspections, and production readiness reviews.
  • Build and develop a high-performing operations organization and support performance management and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace manufacturing or production environments.
  • 7+ years of experience leading managers and large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Deep expertise in complex assembly and system integration.
  • Deep expertise in environmental, functional, and acceptance testing.
  • Deep expertise in aerospace quality management systems, including AS9100.
  • Deep expertise in lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
  • Proven track record of leading operations in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
  • Direct experience with rocket engines, in-space propulsion, or missile propulsion systems is preferred.
  • Experience scaling propulsion production from development/NPI into full-rate manufacturing is preferred.
  • Background in test-heavy environments such as hot-fire test stands, cryogenic systems, or high-pressure systems is preferred.
  • Experience leading operations in high-rate or rate-driven aerospace manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification, such as Black Belt or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in new product introduction, scaling production, and rate transitions is preferred.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Person eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.
