Description

  • Oversee daily general ledger analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Produce periodic financial reports for daily, monthly, and annual internal monitoring.
  • Maintain accounting records, controls, and budgets to mitigate risk and ensure accurate financial results.
  • Ensure reported results comply with GAAP and applicable reporting standards.
  • Forecast financial performance and explain variances in fees and operating expenses versus budget.
  • Prepare and file call reports and other regulatory and financial reports by required deadlines.
  • Complete interest rate risk analysis and related reporting.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Support annual FDIC and other agency audits.
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and investment functions.
  • Manage the holding company’s financial activity, statements, shareholder correspondence, regulatory reporting, and tax filings.
  • Supervise finance department staff as assigned.
  • Manage finance-related projects and other assignments directed by the CFO and President.
  • Work with department managers to improve accounting procedures and system usage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of comprehensive accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing general ledger and financial reporting functions.
  • Experience in a financial institution accounting role preferred.
  • Prior banking experience preferred, with knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
  • Strong financial control and general ledger expertise.
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and other accounting software systems.
  • Experience with banking core processor systems, with Fiserv and Prologue preferred.
  • Experience with interest rate risk and budgeting tools.
  • Strong decision-making, judgment, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
