Description

  • Provide strategic, project-based leadership across financial operations, reporting, controls, and business planning for credit-focused alternative investment clients.
  • Audit the finance and operations function and identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual work, and lower key-person risk.
  • Build and optimize finance infrastructure that can scale with a growing credit manager.
  • Oversee fund accounting, management company accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Improve financial reporting, internal controls, and operational transparency for institutional investors and regulators.
  • Manage audits, tax coordination, and relationships with external service providers, including fund administrators.
  • Improve data integrity and reconciliation between the order management system and the fund administrator.
  • Advise on systems, automation, vendor selection, and practical uses of AI with appropriate governance and security considerations.
  • Partner with founders, COOs, CIOs, and senior leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
  • Support institutional readiness and investor reporting, including faster close cycles and more frequent reporting deliverables.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a CFO, Head of Finance, Controller, or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
  • Deep credit background, including restructurings, corporate actions, and special situations/distressed investing.
  • Hands-on expertise with Bloomberg AIM as the order management system and book of record.
  • Strong working knowledge of derivative instruments, including swaps, forwards, cleared products, and credit derivatives such as CDS/CDX.
  • Experience building and scaling finance and operations platforms through growth phases.
  • Experience working with fund administrators on complex, multi-asset credit strategies.
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, investment operations, and financial infrastructure.
  • Emerging markets experience, such as hard-currency EM debt, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with bank loans in a credit portfolio is preferred.
  • Experience with portfolio reporting or reconciliation automation tools such as Lightkeeper is preferred.
