Description

  • Own utility interconnection and new-service programs from early diligence through energized service.
  • Lead utility diligence covering capacity, service voltage, required upgrades, timelines, and costs.
  • Prepare and manage utility service and interconnection applications through approval.
  • Serve as the primary interface with electric utilities and manage timelines, budgets, and escalations.
  • Functionally lead and quality-check external partners performing utility diligence and application work.
  • Coordinate utility milestones with design and permitting schedules.
  • Manage rate schedule and tariff selection.
  • Provide utility upgrade and service costs for project budgets and unit-cost models.
  • Maintain territory-specific repositories of utility requirements, processes, and contacts.
  • Develop utility relationships and standardized interconnection playbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of directly related professional experience.
  • Substantial experience with electric utility interconnection, new-service requests, and service upgrades.
  • Program or portfolio management experience coordinating concurrent projects and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance utility applications and approvals on aggressive timelines.
  • Experience negotiating phased or partial interconnection agreements with utilities.
  • Experience with distributed energy resources such as BESS or solar, or large commercial and industrial loads preferred.
  • Exposure to EV charging, edge compute/data center power, or renewable energy development preferred.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 1547, utility tariffs, and state interconnection rules preferred.
  • Experience working with permitting authorities and engineering consultants preferred.
  • Prior utility experience and PMP or equivalent certification preferred; approximately 20% travel required.
