Description

  • Conduct field investigations and gather data in industrial and manufacturing environments.
  • Design medium-voltage up to 15 kV and low-voltage up to 600 VAC power distribution systems.
  • Perform short-circuit, load-flow, overcurrent coordination, arc-flash, power-factor, grounding, harmonics, and panel SCCR analyses.
  • Design machine, process, facility electrical, and grounding systems and oversee installation.
  • Lead project documentation, schedules, cost estimates, design reviews, and client coordination.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews and seal design packages.
  • Lead design work, delegate tasks, and hold team members accountable.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Develop proposals including concepts, scope, deliverables, hours, and estimated costs.
  • Travel up to 25% annually for work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 10+ years of industrial electrical systems engineering design and analysis experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, including utility services, substations, switchgear, transformers, grounding, capacitor banks, and metering.
  • Active Professional Engineer license.
  • Experience using SKM Power Tools, EasyPower, or similar tools for electrical power analysis.
  • Experience evaluating short circuit current, protective-device coordination, arc flash, load studies, power factor correction, and harmonics.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related standards, including NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, 79, and IEEE color books.
  • 15+ years of industry-relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous-area classification and related power implications preferred.
