Description

  • Lead migration of product and backend tools from legacy data centers to a public cloud environment.
  • Modernize operations by moving from legacy hosting to containerized architectures and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code practices to make environments reproducible and scalable.
  • Architect and build high-ROI generative AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, and vector databases.
  • Develop AI-driven internal tools to improve developer productivity and automate backend operational workflows.
  • Establish technical standards for AI API usage, data privacy, and cost management.
  • Lead a lean team of DevOps engineers and full-stack developers on critical modernization projects.
  • Contribute hands-on to code reviews, architectural decisions, and high-priority development work.
  • Mentor existing engineering staff and help transition the team to modern cloud-native workflows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of total software engineering experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven track record of personally leading an on-premise or data center to public cloud migration.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Recent practical experience with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs, LangChain, Pinecone or Weaviate, and Python.
  • Strong background in Linux, networking, security, and Kubernetes/container orchestration.
  • Ability to prioritize shipping working code in a turnaround or high-growth environment.
  • Ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and board members.
  • Strong resilience and emotional intelligence for driving cultural change in established teams.
  • Experience working in a private equity- or venture capital-backed portfolio company (preferred).
  • Experience dissecting and refactoring Java or .NET monoliths (preferred).
