Description

  • Execute the executive technical strategy by translating high-level goals into milestones and scalable system designs.
  • Build prototypes, core libraries, and foundational projects that establish engineering practices.
  • Set and enforce technical standards for scalability, performance, failure handling, and production quality.
  • Lead design reviews with emphasis on backward compatibility and verification for data-heavy systems.
  • Evolve Node.js microservices on AWS EKS to reduce technical debt and improve efficiency at scale.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to clarify requirements and align delivery with the technical vision.
  • Design foundations for the full data lifecycle, from IoT ingestion through storage and processing.
  • Implement observability and monitoring standards to maximize platform reliability and uptime.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in an architectural leadership role, such as Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or equivalent, spanning multiple engineering teams.
  • Experience translating high-level concepts into documented, implementable architectural patterns and designs.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems and mature microservices environments.
  • Strong hands-on JavaScript and Node.js experience in service-based architectures.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, HTTP APIs, AWS EKS, and Aurora PostgreSQL, including API design, service boundaries, and asynchronous communication.
  • Strong data architecture experience for high-volume, real-time, IoT, or event-driven systems.
  • Experience improving reliability and performance through observability, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
