Description

  • Manage multiple engineering teams and own people and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead the full people-management lifecycle, including 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, hiring, terminations, and compensation decisions.
  • Ensure teams are appropriately staffed, meet KPIs, and deliver on commitments.
  • Develop Tech Leads in design ownership, technical mentorship, and delivery accountability.
  • Own project management for feature development, including scope, schedules, dependencies, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Product Management to define features, align priorities, and negotiate scope, timeline, and resource trade-offs.
  • Review estimates, designs, plans, and scope to identify technical and schedule risks.
  • Hold Tech Leads accountable for design completion, delivery commitments, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure deployment plans are in place before each feature release and project health is accurately reflected in burn charts.
  • Drive process improvements that increase engineering quality, delivery predictability, and team efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including earlier hands-on technical contributor experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience with responsibility for people management and project delivery.
  • Experience managing and developing engineers, including performance reviews, hiring, and compensation decisions.
  • Proven ownership of software feature delivery across schedule, scope, process, and outcomes.
  • Technical depth to assess designs and plans, validate estimates, and identify execution risks.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management on feature definition, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks.
  • Understanding of software delivery processes, engineering standards, and deployment practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to travel 8–10%.
