Description

  • Lead a team of engineers building, documenting, testing, and debugging a large consumer-facing application with significant daily usage.
  • Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for one or more product areas.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate wireframes and requirements into technical requirements and architecture.
  • Help lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain relationships with other teams to promote consistency in key architectural areas.
  • Build, modify, and maintain APIs, microservices, event streams, and queues using Go and related frameworks and cloud services.
  • Write automated tests for all code and apply Behavior Driven Development practices.
  • Write infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework.
  • Perform code reviews and help improve the team’s code review practices.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical documentation, and evaluate new technologies for the stack.
  • Support implementation of data security standards to meet HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience or software development certification.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in a team lead role using Agile practices and processes.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with AWS preferred, or 2+ years of experience with Go/Golang, or 2+ years of experience with React + TypeScript.
  • Strong ability to communicate development approaches and plans within and across teams.
  • Professional experience with modern version control systems such as Git and platforms such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Experience working in a startup environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and HL7 standards such as FHIR (preferred).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework (preferred).
  • Experience with graph data modeling using Ent (preferred).
  • Experience with event streaming frameworks such as EventBridge (preferred).
  • Experience with gRPC/Twirp (preferred).
  • AWS certification(s) (preferred).
