Description

  • Help prospects determine whether their application is a good fit for Temporal.
  • Explain the technical benefits and drawbacks of Temporal’s platform and cloud service to prospects and customers.
  • Position Temporal against alternative technologies and technical patterns.
  • Create the conditions for customer engineering teams to expand production applications using Temporal.
  • Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute account plans.
  • Own the technical relationship with customer decision-makers during evaluation and operation of Temporal applications.
  • Provide technical guidance on application prototypes, design, development, build, and deployment approaches.
  • Advise customers on architectural topics such as application patterns, platform architectures, security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
  • Support scoping and sizing of opportunities and identify good-fit and poor-fit use cases.
  • Travel 25-50% as needed for customer and company engagements.

Requirements

  • Excellent technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.
  • Comfort discussing distributed systems technologies, design decisions, and best practices.
  • Ability to construct application prototypes and provide hands-on guidance using one of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, or PHP.
  • Familiarity with operating applications in production, including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
  • Ability to provide strong technical arguments on architectural topics such as application patterns and platform architectures.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud provider and common application development and production services.
  • Ability to serve as a technical advisor to Sales Account Executives on fit, scoping, sizing, and technical risk.
  • Preferred: enjoyment of learning new technical topics, often directly from Engineering.
  • Preferred: ability to ramp up from docs, videos, and conversations without sales-specific training.
  • Preferred: strong partnership skills with customer engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience acting as a technical coach and helping others succeed.

  • Estimated base salary range of $250,000 to $300,000.
  • 70/30 base salary and variable compensation split.
