Description

  • Serve as the frontline technical expert for Temporal’s developer community.
  • Help users deploy and scale Temporal in cloud-native environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, scalability, and reliability issues in distributed systems.
  • Optimize cloud performance and improve availability for Temporal users.
  • Develop automation solutions for infrastructure operations and resilience engineering.
  • Build and enhance observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Improve networking-related setup and troubleshooting across load balancing, DNS, ingress, and egress.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineering teams, and product teams to identify infrastructure challenges and deliver solutions.
  • Drive technical solutions independently, including debugging production issues and defining infrastructure best practices.
  • Influence platform improvements and self-service tools that simplify troubleshooting and operations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a developer.
  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages preferred: Python, Java, Golang, or TypeScript.
  • Experience deploying and managing medium to large-scale architectures, such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience troubleshooting performance and availability issues.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an internal or external customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with or as part of remote teams.
  • Ability to seek to understand first, lead with data, and rely on facts.
  • Previous experience in customer-facing positions such as professional services consultant, solutions architect, or customer engineer is a plus.
  • Experience with security certificate management and implementation is a plus.
  • Ability to translate customer use cases into architecture best practices and Temporal design decisions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EKS, GKE, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTracing, Terraform, Ansible, or CDK is a plus.

  • Estimated salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 based on experience and location.
  • Eligibility to participate in Temporal’s equity plan.
