Description

Perform authoritative live shots during developing stories and breaking news situations.
Develop story ideas and offer them in daily editorial meetings.
Mine the community for sources and maintain relationships that support reporting.
Research facts and verify credibility for stories.
Shoot, write, produce, and edit on-air and online content within deadlines.
Use creative production techniques, including graphics and viewer-generated or webcam content, to enhance stories.
Use social media and digital tools to research, discover, and distribute content.
Write stories in an exciting, captivating, and authentic manner.
Identify, write, and produce stories within a specific framework.

Requirements

1-3 years of reporting experience preferred.
Current driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle to and from various locations.
Strong news judgment, communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
Strong writing, production, and tease writing abilities.
ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics experience preferred.
Must be organized and able to work under constant deadlines.
Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events.
Proven social and digital content creation ability.
Knowledge of Harrisburg is a plus.
