Description

  • Lead the architectural design and technical implementation of scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure software solutions using open-standard technologies.
  • Develop and maintain modern Java enterprise applications using industry-standard frameworks.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain clean and efficient source code in Government-owned Git repositories.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams on architecture, coding standards, and secure development practices.
  • Conduct and participate in peer code reviews to improve software quality, maintainability, and standards compliance.
  • Ensure software meets automated quality and security requirements through continuous integration, automated testing, and SAST.
  • Analyze and remediate software vulnerabilities, including Blocker, Critical, and High findings, before task completion.
  • Identify and execute technical debt remediation efforts based on Government priorities.
  • Maintain software quality metrics such as automated test coverage, SonarQube quality ratings, and inline documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to meet RMF and STIG compliance requirements.
  • Research, prototype, and evaluate emerging technologies such as AI/ML, low-code/no-code platforms, and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Mentor software engineers and support continuous improvement in software quality, performance, security, and mission effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with Java enterprise application development, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with SonarQube, GitLab CI/CD, and Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools.
  • Experience developing secure software solutions within a DevSecOps environment.
  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards.
  • Experience supporting DoD cybersecurity requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and STIG compliance.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding practices, and modern development methodologies.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting DoD software modernization programs.
  • Preferred: Experience with U.S. Air Force or other DoD mission applications.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into software solutions.
  • Preferred: Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software engineering efficiency.
  • Preferred: Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps practices.
  • Preferred: Experience mentoring and leading software engineering teams.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and Scrum practices.
