Description

  • Develop engaging experiences for millions of users across mobile and web applications.
  • Design and implement scalable apps and services within a unified product and system architecture.
  • Brainstorm and evaluate new product features with product and UX teams.
  • Collaborate and pair with other developers to build solutions and share technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to development standards and improve code quality across engineering.
  • Champion automated testing practices and own the reliability and stability of backend services.
  • Participate in on-call duties and incident management.
  • Evaluate and test new technologies to improve team velocity and user outcomes.
  • Help teammates unblock work and complete tasks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience leading large projects on high-scale, distributed software systems.
  • Proficiency in backend development with Node, Python, Golang, Ruby, or similar languages.
  • Experience using SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or GCP Cloud SQL, including migrations, profiling, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience developing APIs and services for mobile applications and web clients at scale.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects and debug issues spanning multiple systems.
  • Experience architecting APIs, event streams, and webhooks.
  • Experience working within and toward distributed systems.
  • Experience building services for livestreaming, advertising, or subscriptions is a plus.
  • Comfort working remotely across time zones.
  • Permanent US residency required; not hiring in Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Utah.
