Description

  • Own the AI Coach, including prompting, conversation state, progression, Pinecone retrieval, model selection, evaluation, and safety/crisis handling.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, GraphQL, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Build and deliver React Native mobile applications for iOS and Android and the supporting React website.
  • Manage subscriptions and payments across the App Store, Google Play, and Stripe.
  • Own CI/CD, environments, signing credentials, monitoring, backups, rollback, and frequent safe releases.
  • Build automated evaluation harnesses to test the AI Coach against scripted clinical scenarios.
  • Plan, execute, and communicate technical work independently while translating decisions into plain language for the founder and clinical team.
  • Maintain product quality by improving mobile and web UX, layouts, copy, and user flows.
  • Implement systems that enforce privacy, security, clinical, legal, and safety requirements for sensitive mental-health data.

Requirements

  • Proven experience shipping LLM-based products to production, including prompt architecture, conversation state machines, RAG/retrieval, evaluations, moderation, and safety handling.
  • Strong Python backend engineering experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks, SQL/PostgreSQL, AWS, infrastructure, CI/CD, and production operations.
  • Solid React Native and React experience, including shipping and debugging on iOS and Android.
  • Experience implementing in-app purchases across both mobile stores and Stripe payments on the web.
  • Daily experience using agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent, with the judgment to review and own generated output.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a product or major system end-to-end with minimal technical oversight.
  • Strong product and UX sensibility across mobile and web applications.
  • Experience or demonstrated seriousness regarding privacy, security, and access controls for personal or health data.
  • Experience in mental health, health tech, regulated, or safety-critical consumer products is preferred.
  • Experience with mobile release operations, analytics tools such as AppsFlyer and GA4, voice features, push notifications, CRM, or email integrations is preferred.
