Description

  • Partner with engineers across the organization to build high-quality, scalable products.
  • Analyze engineering processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Design and implement process improvements with engineering teams based on guild insights.
  • Optimize code review processes and support continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and streamline the software development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for engineers on new technologies and tools.
  • Mentor engineers by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, code reviews, and feedback.
  • Work in and improve legacy codebases that may not have been originally written by you.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and methodologies that improve engineering capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and supporting production web applications.
  • Experience using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform.
  • Proficiency writing software used in a production environment.
  • Experience working on a platform with multiple services.
  • Ability and motivation to take on difficult technical challenges and expand your skillset.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with comfort balancing asynchronous communication and virtual meetings.
  • Experience collaborating with team members at different experience levels to design and implement technical projects.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems on your own.
  • A humble, customer-focused, highly curious approach to problem-solving.
  • Nice to have: DevOps or SRE experience.
  • Nice to have: Proficiency with Golang and Ruby in a production environment.
  • Nice to have: Experience on an engineering enablement or platform team, or contributing to engineering-wide initiatives.
