Description

  • Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing of software applications and products.
  • Identify, prioritize, and document security vulnerabilities and remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement secure coding practices and security best practices.
  • Participate in security architecture and application design reviews.
  • Review penetration test results and vulnerability assessments with clients both in person and remotely.
  • Provide training and mentorship to developers on secure coding and vulnerability remediation.
  • Stay current on emerging security vulnerabilities, trends, and best practices.
  • Support secure development training sessions in remote and in-person settings.
  • Act as a security partner by bringing hands-on software development experience, ideally with the Microsoft development stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in application security or a related role.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a full lifecycle developer creating enterprise applications, preferably using .NET, .NET Core, and Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of web application security vulnerabilities and best practices.
  • Direct experience with penetration testing processes and tools such as Qualys, Burp Suite, Snyk, or SCA tools.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as OWASP and NIST.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, oral, written, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with embedded systems or device controls is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker, CISSP, or CCSP are a plus.
  • Must reside in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, North Dakota, North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, or Arkansas at the time of application.
  • Must be able to travel 4-6 times per year, with no more than 20 days away from home in a calendar year.
