Description

  • Lead the design and development of scalable backend APIs and services that integrate with cloud services, with a focus on IBM Cloud.
  • Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and Partner teams to gather requirements and design intuitive, maintainable interfaces.
  • Guide the evolution of Sysdig's managed service capabilities in cloud environments, especially IBM Cloud.
  • Influence long-term architecture and technical direction for IBM Cloud integrations, including IAM, authentication/authorization, service-to-service patterns, and resiliency.
  • Champion quality, simplicity, and clarity in system design, API design, and data modeling.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and raising engineering standards.
  • Work across cloud provider integration areas to ensure scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services.
  • Contribute to system design decisions that support cloud security and platform growth.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and building distributed backend systems and APIs; data-heavy or high-throughput systems are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud fundamentals, including compute, networking, identity, and security, and the ability to ramp quickly on IBM Cloud specifics.
  • Experience with IAM and access patterns such as OAuth/OIDC, JWT, and RBAC or policy-based access; IBM Cloud IAM experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of SaaS operations and Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, observability, and incident response.
  • Development experience in Java, Go, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores, such as Postgres and other database systems.
  • Understanding of API best practices, including versioning, backward compatibility, consistency, and access control.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, and containerization.
  • Interest in cloud security areas such as CSPM, CDR, or CIEM is appreciated but not required.
  • An English version of your CV is appreciated because some hiring managers are globally distributed.
