Description

  • Report to the Director of Engineering and provide technical leadership across the team.
  • Lead the design and development of scalable backend APIs and services integrated with cloud services, especially IBM Cloud.
  • Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and Partner teams to define requirements and design maintainable interfaces.
  • Guide the evolution of Sysdig's managed service capabilities in IBM Cloud environments.
  • Influence long-term architecture and technical direction for IBM Cloud integrations, including IAM, authentication/authorization, service-to-service patterns, and resiliency.
  • Champion quality, simplicity, and clarity in system design, API design, and data modeling.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and raising engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and building distributed backend systems and APIs.
  • Experience with data-heavy or high-throughput systems is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud fundamentals such as compute, networking, identity, and security.
  • Ability to ramp quickly on IBM Cloud specifics.
  • Experience with IAM and access patterns such as OAuth/OIDC, JWT, and RBAC/policy-based access.
  • IBM Cloud IAM experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of SaaS operations and Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, observability, and incident response.
  • Development experience in Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores such as Postgres and other database systems.
  • Understanding of API best practices, including versioning, backward compatibility, consistency, and access control.
  • Interest in cloud security areas such as CSPM, CDR, or CIEM is appreciated but not required.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, and containerization.
  • An English version of your CV is appreciated for globally distributed hiring managers.
