Description

  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to team members.
  • Review teammates' code and ensure project-level code quality standards are met.
  • Write technical tickets and create technical designs for new features.
  • Develop new features within the existing product.
  • Communicate with team members and the Product team to align on delivery.
  • Resolve technical issues as they arise during development and deployment.
  • Fix bugs in newly developed features, without refactoring legacy code.
  • Write unit tests and integration tests for delivered functionality.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and team delivery processes.
  • Mentor middle and junior colleagues when required.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience building backend systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Scala.
  • At least 2 years of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and/or WebSockets.
  • Proficiency with Scala and its ecosystem, including Akka, Play Framework, and SBT.
  • Experience with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with database technologies including SQL and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or DSE Search.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and DevOps tools such as CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English at B2+ level.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Desirable experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Desirable experience implementing reporting and analytics with big data processing tools such as Apache Spark in DSE Analytics.
  • Desirable experience in gambling or online gaming.
  • Desirable experience with TDD development processes.
  • Strong interest in adopting AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar to improve engineering workflows.
  • Proven ability to use AI to accelerate delivery, improve architectural decisions, enhance code quality, and reduce technical debt.
  • Experience integrating AI into the development lifecycle, including code generation, refactoring, debugging, automated test creation, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Ability to define and promote AI best practices within the team.
  • Understanding of AI limitations, risks, and governance considerations in production environments.
