Description

  • Own machine learning projects from exploration through production deployment and ongoing iteration.
  • Design reliable agentic LLM workflows using tool calling, retrieval, and orchestration for clinical use cases.
  • Build evaluation datasets, offline and online evaluation harnesses, LLM-as-judge pipelines, human-review processes, and regression tests.
  • Improve model quality through prompting, retrieval, distillation, and fine-tuning based on evidence.
  • Work across data preparation, model adaptation, serving, monitoring, and production feedback loops.
  • Partner with Product, Clinical, and Engineering teams to translate clinical needs into technical decisions and identify tradeoffs.
  • Review code, share technical learnings, and mentor earlier-career engineers.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping production ML systems that users depend on.
  • Hands-on production experience with LLM prompting, retrieval, tool calling, and agent-style workflows.
  • Experience building evaluation datasets and frameworks to measure model improvements rigorously.
  • Strong ML fundamentals and ability to assess technical tradeoffs.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous problems into production systems.
  • Strong software engineering skills, including production-quality code and familiarity with distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug complex ML pipelines.
  • Clear communication skills for technical and clinical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency at least at Sword's Explorer level, using AI daily to improve productivity.
  • Experience with fine-tuning or preference optimization such as RLHF or DPO (preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare AI or another high-stakes domain (preferred).
  • Experience building agent frameworks or evaluation tooling from scratch, or contributing through open source or technical writing (preferred).

Benefits

  • Total compensation range of €66,500–€104,500 EUR, including base pay, variable compensation, and estimated equity value where applicable.
  • Private company stock options where applicable.
  • Compensation may be adjusted based on demonstrated impact after joining.
