Description

  • Design, build, and operate ML components in the live search-serving path within strict latency budgets.
  • Develop query-time ML capabilities for query understanding and handling.
  • Build and scale ML and LLM data pipelines for large product catalogs, balancing cost and data freshness.
  • Tune search models across merchants, industry verticals, languages, and regions.
  • Build and scale online features and model-serving infrastructure.
  • Establish offline evaluation and safe production rollout processes, including baselines, A/B tests, fallbacks, and latency and cost tracking.
  • Improve production observability and diagnosis for ML systems.
  • Partner with Search Quality engineers to deploy relevance and ranking models within performance and cost targets.
  • Contribute to technical design and influence cross-team engineering decisions.

Requirements

  • BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline, with a strong mathematical foundation.
  • Excellent Python programming skills and experience with a backend language such as Go or Java.
  • 5+ years of experience building production ML-driven systems.
  • Hands-on experience serving ML models and LLMs in scalable AWS or GCP environments under latency and cost constraints.
  • Experience building large-scale data and ML pipelines.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills across model training and backend engineering.
  • Experience supporting multiple customers, domains, or languages.
  • Working knowledge of search concepts such as query understanding, ranking, autosuggest, or faceting.
  • Experience with deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with Solr, Elasticsearch, vector search tools such as Milvus or Qdrant, or ML evaluation, observability, or explainability tooling (preferred).
