Description

  • Own the architecture and roadmap for a modular multi-RAT RAN digital twin.
  • Integrate production MAC and scheduler software into deterministic closed-loop simulations.
  • Model interactions among PHY, channels, UE behavior, traffic, interference, mobility, HARQ, link adaptation, and power control.
  • Extend LTE simulation capabilities with reusable abstractions for 5G NR and 2G.
  • Design calibrated fidelity levels ranging from surrogate models to full PHY processing.
  • Develop and evaluate AI/ML-based RAN capabilities and establish algorithmic baselines.
  • Build reproducible datasets, experiment pipelines, A/B tests, and KPI measurement processes.
  • Establish simulation verification, validation, calibration, and evidence-reporting practices.
  • Build automated testing and integrate unit, regression, performance, and end-to-end tests into CI/CD.
  • Improve simulation speed, scalability, observability, documentation, and usability while collaborating across engineering and validation teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Typically 7+ years of hands-on experience in communications systems, development, integration, or simulation.
  • Experience building or validating link-level, system-level, or hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
  • Strong C or C++ and Python programming skills, including native-code integration.
  • Experience with NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and scientific visualization tools.
  • Strong experimental and statistical judgment, including reproducibility, calibration, uncertainty, error analysis, and controlled comparisons.
  • Experience with Linux, Git, automated testing, containers, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to lead ambiguous technical initiatives, make architecture decisions, and communicate across teams.
  • Experience with wireless systems, RAN, modem/PHY, or Open RAN is preferred.
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, LTE/5G NR L1/L2 behavior, MATLAB, 3GPP standards, scheduling algorithms, or digital communications is preferred.
  • PhD in wireless communications, signal processing, or a related field is preferred.
