Description

  • Own annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasts, and the three-year strategic plan.
  • Manage monthly management accounts, board packs, investor reporting, and FP&A reporting.
  • Oversee weekly trading reviews with marketing and merchandising, including promotional and marketing spend decisions.
  • Maintain weekly cash flow forecasts and the three-way model, and support cash roadmap execution.
  • Develop FP&A reporting and business intelligence outputs within Sigma.
  • Lead the monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and the integrity of board-level data.
  • Run treasury activities including payment runs, banking relationships, debt facilities, covenant reporting, and lender communication.
  • Oversee VAT, payroll, statutory filings, year-end close, and external audit processes.
  • Provide strategic analysis and guidance on major commercial decisions, partnerships, new ventures, and CAPEX investments.
  • Lead, coach, and prioritise the finance team while strengthening financial controls, governance, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proven experience leading or working across the full finance function, including FP&A, management accounting, treasury, and statutory reporting.
  • Strong commercial experience in a consumer-facing, high-growth environment such as e-commerce, retail, hospitality, or DTC.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, implementing, and managing robust financial controls.
  • Ability to build credibility with non-finance stakeholders and challenge leadership constructively.
  • Advanced financial modelling and forecasting skills, including building complex models from scratch and three-way models.
  • Strategic mindset with willingness to roll up sleeves during month-end and work directly with the numbers.
  • Experience in a multi-channel business, especially Direct-to-Consumer plus Wholesale, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with retail or merchandising finance, including stock investment economics and markdown management, is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with modern BI tools such as Sigma is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with or reporting to a strategic board and understanding the standards required by institutional partners is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the furniture, homeware, or interiors sectors is strongly preferred.
