Description

  • Architect and implement backend services and their integrations with data stores and third-party APIs.
  • Work in an agile environment on business-impactful projects.
  • Support reliable databases and APIs for real-time automated decision-making.
  • Deploy software using tools such as Kubernetes clusters and Lambda functions.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior.
  • Strengthen application security and apply Defense in Depth principles to protect user data and containers.
  • Build robust automated test suites to maintain high code quality and low failure rates.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Architects to translate business requirements into production-ready code.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for delivered solutions and contribute creative ideas to the project.
  • Develop programming skills while learning about how a US tech business operates.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Practical knowledge of at least one relational database system, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
  • Experience with microservices and system design patterns.
  • Ability to participate in software design and architecture discussions.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, accountability, and ownership in delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience implementing the test pyramid, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Good security practices and a security-minded approach.
  • Readiness to learn and expand your skill set as project needs evolve.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Availability in the afternoons, with occasional evening meetings across time zones.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS deployment processes is a plus.
  • Experience with profiling and performance optimization is a plus.
  • Experience giving high-quality feedback during code review is a plus.
