Description

  • Design and implement advanced REDCap databases with longitudinal projects, repeating instruments/events, branching logic, calculated fields, piping, and custom workflows.
  • Develop and maintain REDCap integrations with external systems using APIs, including automated imports/exports, ETL processes, scheduling, authentication, and data synchronization.
  • Create automated data validation rules, discrepancy reports, quality assurance processes, and monitoring dashboards to improve data integrity.
  • Operationalize and document data collection workflows according to study protocols.
  • Create and interpret reports for internal and external study monitoring.
  • Conduct QC, validation, and user acceptance testing for data collection procedures and systems.
  • Evaluate new EDC system functionality, including APIs and external modules.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on database design, programming techniques, and system capabilities.
  • Ensure quality by following established standards and procedures.
  • Comply with federal regulations, client guidelines, corporate SOPs, and project work instructions related to data management.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in computer sciences, health sciences, or a related field with 5+ years of experience leading development of EDC systems such as REDCap, REDCap Cloud, SurveyCTO, or OpenClinica.
  • M.S. degree in computer sciences, health sciences, or a related field with 3+ years of experience leading development of EDC systems such as REDCap, REDCap Cloud, SurveyCTO, or OpenClinica.
  • Advanced experience building complex longitudinal, multi-arm, multilingual, and survey-based REDCap projects.
  • Experience integrating EDC systems with EHRs, laboratory systems, cloud storage, or reporting platforms through APIs or ETL pipelines.
  • Experience designing edit checks, automated validation rules, data cleaning workflows, discrepancy management, and audit processes.
  • Experience managing development, testing, and production environments using documented change control, versioning, and release management practices.
  • Advanced QA/QC and troubleshooting skills related to REDCap configuration, APIs, system performance, and external system integrations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
  • Familiarity with clinical research data standards and regulations such as NIH Common Data Elements, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, or FAIR principles is highly desirable.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
