Description

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Data Analysts and a Data Scientist by setting goals, supporting career growth, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Own team execution through intake, prioritization, roadmap planning, stakeholder communication, and delivery of insights and analyses.
  • Establish best practices for analytics delivery, including documentation, QA, reproducibility, peer review, and governance.
  • Partner with leaders across Marketing, Merchandising, Fulfillment Operations, Customer Service, and Human Resources to define questions, metrics, and measurement approaches.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis, decision-ready recommendations, and post-launch success metrics.
  • Standardize governed KPI definitions and build a culture of controlled measurement and accountability.
  • Lead selection and implementation of a cross-functional BI tool, including requirements gathering, evaluation, proof-of-concepts, and cost/value analysis.
  • Define governance for the BI ecosystem, including shared metrics definitions and documentation standards.
  • Drive adoption through training, templates, office hours, and continuous improvement based on feedback.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and IT to ensure analytics needs are met through strong data modeling, reliable pipelines, and source-of-truth datasets.
  • Advocate for data quality and reliability through monitoring, lineage, documentation/cataloging, and consistent definitions across domains.
  • Help evolve the company’s centralized analytics operating model and propose future-state approaches as the business grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in Analytics, BI, or Data, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of people management experience.
  • Proven experience delivering dashboards, reporting, insights, and analysis across multiple business functions.
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to review analytics work for correctness and performance.
  • Hands-on experience with modern BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Mode, ThoughtSpot, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to define metrics and KPIs, align stakeholders, and build scalable self-serve analytics.
  • Familiarity working in a GCP environment, including BigQuery-centric analytics workflows.
  • Working knowledge of data architecture concepts such as data warehousing, lakehouse patterns, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, and governance.
  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business, or a related field, preferred.
  • Experience selecting and rolling out a BI tool across departments, preferred.
  • Experience with semantic layers or metrics layers and strong analytics governance practices, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Python or R, or ability to guide teams using these tools, preferred.
  • Experience with forecasting, experimentation, causal inference, or advanced analytics methods, preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools commonly used alongside GCP analytics stacks, such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster, preferred.
