Description

Develop and own the long-term category vision and ensure alignment with company strategy and financial objectives.
Identify enterprise-level opportunities for growth, innovation, and competitive advantage.
Establish category frameworks, processes, and best practices for the organization.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing category management team.
Set performance expectations, provide coaching, and support career development.
Oversee category strategies across multiple product areas and ensure consistency and strategic alignment.
Approve major assortment decisions, vendor partnerships, and product launches.
Lead strategic vendor negotiations, joint business planning, and long-term partnership development.
Own category financial performance, including revenue, margin, and profitability targets.
Partner with senior leaders across Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations on enterprise initiatives and present updates to executive leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, and product development.
3+ years of experience leading remote teams of Category Managers with demonstrated success driving strategic, financial, and operational outcomes.
Advanced statistical analysis and data manipulation skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and retail systems.
Strong executive presence with interpersonal communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
Exceptional critical, strategic, and creative thinking skills in an ever-changing environment.
Proven time management skills and flexibility in a high-growth environment.
Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting.
Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship provided.
Remote candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the listed states: AZ, DE, FL, GA, KY, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, or WA.

Base salary of $158,000–$198,000 per year.
