Description

  • Manage the full sales cycle for a designated portfolio, including prospecting, developing tailored proposals, negotiating bids, closing sales, and resolving customer issues.
  • Lead expansion and revenue generation in the education and government sectors (colleges/universities, Federal, State, and Local agencies) and pursue new customer partnerships.
  • Identify and qualify market opportunities through research, networking, cold calling, tradeshows, and conferences to build and maintain a dynamic sales pipeline.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor strategies to inform sales approaches and support account planning.
  • Plan and execute integrations with key Trades services platforms to support TradeMasters and drive increased share of wallet.
  • Regularly engage with current and prospective customers via phone and email to understand needs, communicate product/service value, and act as a customer insight source for the tech roadmap.
  • Manage the bid process end-to-end for education and government contracts while ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Create, update, and maintain sales reports and prospective client lists, collaborate with internal teams, and submit comprehensive reports to management.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with Customer Experience, IT, Product Management, Customer Service, Merchandising, and Operations to support account needs.
  • Travel within the continental U.S. (up to 30% annually) and attend in-person meetings at the Melville, NY headquarters up to three times per year as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Account Management, or related roles.
  • 2+ years of experience working with academic institutions and/or government organizations (e.g., co-ops and GPOs).
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and develop strong customer relationships.
  • Strong critical and creative thinking skills with proficiency in spreadsheet-driven analysis and data manipulation.
  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Preferred: product knowledge in Plumbing, Heating/HVAC, and Electrical trades.
  • Preferred: experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking outreach and sales leads.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time (SupplyHouse.com will not sponsor work visas) and able to pass background checks.
  • Position is remote but open to candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to: AZ, DE, FL, GA, KY, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WA; ability to maintain a distraction-free remote work environment is expected.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% of the year and attend occasional on-site meetings in Melville, NY.
