Description

  • Manage onboarding activities for new retirement plan clients and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding systems, status reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and map prior plan documents to reflect existing plan provisions in the new plan.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate plan documents, amendments, restatements, SPDs, and related materials.
  • Participate in plan provision and onboarding calls with clients, advisors, and internal teams.
  • Explain plan provisions and requirements clearly to clients and partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plan design and recommend solutions for unsupported provisions.
  • Prepare and submit approved plan provisions to recordkeepers and coordinate supporting documentation.
  • Interpret and review legal and plan documents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Partner with internal teams and external providers to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward.
  • Improve onboarding processes, workflows, and methodologies as the business grows.
  • Own onboarding activities from initiation through completion while delivering a high-quality client experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience working with retirement plan documents, qualified retirement plans, or TPA operations.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations governing qualified retirement plans.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and drafting retirement plan documents.
  • Strong understanding of 401(k) plan provisions and plan design concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate complex retirement plan concepts clearly to clients, advisors, and internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and follow them through to completion.
  • Experience with plan amendments, restatements, SPDs, and other retirement plan compliance documents (preferred).
  • Experience with 401(k) plan administration, including compliance testing, plan operations, and document update cycles (preferred).
  • Experience working directly with employers, advisors, recordkeepers, or other retirement plan partners (preferred).
  • Familiarity with retirement plan document and administration systems (preferred).
  • ASPPA credentials such as QKA, QKC, or QPA, or progress toward certification (preferred).
