Description

  • Work closely with program leadership to align technical efforts with program and company priorities.
  • Conceive, prototype, test, and mature image processing algorithms for critical national security missions.
  • Apply first-principles physics to model and simulate realistic environments and clutter conditions.
  • Develop signal processing chain components from raw sensor data through target classification.
  • Document and present technical products to scientists and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with mission partners to leverage cutting-edge technology and research for immediate impact.
  • Support end-to-end solution development for challenging airborne passive optical sensing problems.
  • Lead or contribute to complex research, development, and engineering efforts.
  • Translate mission needs into technical solutions in collaboration with decision-makers and customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for a U.S. Government clearance.
  • BA or MS in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following: signal processing, Fourier analysis, linear estimation, optimization, adaptive signal processing, AI/ML algorithm development, algorithm development, modeling and simulation, systems engineering, or optics modeling.
  • Experience building and delivering technical briefs to peers, senior executives, and customers.
  • Proficiency in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Strong mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: Experience with passive optical technologies in the defense sector, particularly airborne downward-looking sensors.
  • Preferred: Experience with computer vision techniques such as feature identification and matching, tracking, optical flow, and background subtraction.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership of complex research, development, and engineering efforts.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to conceive, prototype, test, and mature novel algorithms for challenging sensors.
