Description

  • Define the product scope, including what to intercept, what not to intercept, and the customer-facing experience.
  • Choose the technical approach, including instrumentation strategy, deployment shape, and programming language.
  • Build and ship the runtime protection layer end to end.
  • Develop and refine detection logic and the methodology used to validate it.
  • Use CloudLinux’s existing threat intelligence and cross-layer signals where helpful.
  • Collaborate with architects while owning the technical direction of the product.
  • Measure and optimize the product against runtime overhead, false positives, false negatives, and customer escalations.
  • Work hands-on every day across research, engineering, and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Node.js runtime and the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Strong web application security fundamentals and current knowledge of practical exploitation.
  • Understanding of how detection rules behave at scale without flagging legitimate code.
  • Ability to operate as PM, architect, lead engineer, and QA for a new product.
  • Comfort making independent decisions and asking for help or resources when needed.
  • Experience with AI coding agents and directing them to high-quality output (preferred).
  • Prior work on runtime-protection products, application firewalls, or instrumentation tooling (preferred).
  • Background in malware analysis or incident response (preferred).
  • Familiarity with managed-hosting environments (preferred).
  • Public security research, vulnerability disclosures, or authored detection rulesets (preferred).
